We are a team of interdisciplinary students ranging from Sustainable Design, Government, Sustainability Studies, Fashion, and more. We came together to learn how to run an agency and turn this EHS advertising campaign into an official student organization!
One of our first tasks was establishing an agency organizational structure! Sorting ourselves by our strengths, backgrounds, and abilities, we created an organizational structure and communication flow.
With our large creative team, we were able to harness the workforce on the creative team to aid any and all team projects and club goals.
Creating a Student Organization
Being a pre-existing EHS ad campaign, LDL had a small existing presence on campus. Our challenge was increasing this presence and communicating our shift into a student org. We needed increased campus presence, to promote communication of involvement opportunities, determine a schedule for events and meetings, and have a way to ensure the club will carry on after this class is no longer running it.
We attended the student org fair to spread awareness of our new student org and recruit followers for our socials and newsletter!
FAC tabling before our first meeting to further recruit people and spread the word!
A big event for us, the combination of tabling and the Big Creek cleanup collab was a huge success!
Though Earth Day was cancelled, we still worked hard to prepare for it!
Coordinated as a team to provide pizza, a bingo game,
and giveaways for the meeting! We had a great student turnout
and received a lot of positive feedback from this event
but also learned a lot about event coordination and planning.
Meeting at the creek to do some interactive activities with the members.
Filled several leadership positions with members of the club to ensure a smooth transition of leadership from class to club.
We kept our mailing list updated with fun monthly newsletters and maintained that communication channel to further promote our new status as a student org but also keep all our previous members informed.
We increased awareness of Waller Creek on campus through our promotion of Longhorns Don't Litter! We also ensured continued work on the protection of Waller Creek through establishment of the student org. Our cleanups directly removed trash from the creek and even the posters we gave out are spreading awareness of waller creek through promotional art.
Organization of resources, links, assignments, and all requested services from the creative team.
As a team, we reincorced a consistent branding aesthetic and built out our social media and online presence in a matching style.
We also created templates, re-usable artwork, and posts for the next generation of LDL leadership to use.
Visuals and brand recognition are important for awareness, especially on UT campus. Banners, flags, stickers, and posters are all opportunities for brand recognition. Collaboration between the leadership team and the creative team resulted in the ordering of a selection of materials. These will help equip the future leaders of LDL with the tools they need to continue recruiting and spreading the LDL word!
